Our Core Beliefs.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and has the right to command our beliefs and actions.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 – "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting,
and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
We believe in the unity of the Trinity ; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; the only true God.
Matthew 28:19-20 - "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, who died on a cross as the spotless Sacrificial Lamb for the righteousness of God and the forgiveness of our sins. We believe that He was resurrected by God on the third day.
John 1:29 - "The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, 'Look, the Lamb of God,
who takes away the sin of the world!'"
We believe the Holy Spirit is living and active, moving in the life of every believer to empower us to the lives He called us to.
Romans 8:9, 11- "You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ... And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies
because of his Spirit who lives in you."
We believe there is a heaven and a hell,
and that Jesus Christ is returning to judge the earth and to establish His eternal kingdom.
John 14:1-4 – "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
We believe we are fallen people living in a fallen world, and that salvation is unattainable based on our own efforts.
Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Ephesians 2:8-10 - "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast."
We believe that sin separates us from God, and we cannot pay our own ransom.
Romans 6:23 -For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We believe that in the immersion of baptism, as we are buried and raised with Christ,
our sins are washed away in the blood of the Lamb.
Colossians 2: 12-15 - "...having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised with Him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."
We believe that God loves us passionately and pursues us relentlessly.
John 3:16-17 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
We believe that we are specifically called to love one another; our neighbors and our enemies.
John 13:34-45 - “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
Matthew 5:44-45 - "But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
that you may be children of your Father in heaven."
We believe that we have been called to call others to discipleship, and authentic faith is shown through action.
Matthew 28:18-20 - "Jesus came to them and said, '...Therefore go and make disciples of every nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you."
